This summer I really wanted to learn how to garden. I love the idea of walking to the backyard and picking veggies. Since I have a pretty busy work schedule and was in school at the time I figured an herb garden with a few tomato plants would be perfect. It has been great cooking with all of my wonderful herbs and I can't wait for the salsa. I have really enjoyed it and look forward to expanding it next year!

People watching in the Burg

I am an avid people watcher. I love to go to the Mall, parks, and Wal-Mart(the later the better for this one, critters really do come out of the woodwork.) You can see some much and completely be entertained for free. This past week or so the sun has come out and been shining its glorious rays on some seriously deprived Idahoans. As luck would have it, summer in Rexburg is the best for people watching. Since I go to school and work in Rexburg I get to do a lot of it. This has its moments of …. well Rexburg-esque-ness. You can’t really describe it till you have been there and witnessed it firsthand. You can tell its summer by the sheer volume of couples cuddling/ making out on blankets and babies in strollers in Porter Park. It is fascinating! With this I decided to make an ode to Love in the Burg. Here are 5 pickup lines I have heard used this week. (Keep in mind I overheard these they are first person :) )

1.) Your really hot can I buy you a pop at Horkley’s… to cool you down!

2.) Wait you live where… I live like a street away. Are we FHE brotherand sister?

3.) I have a scooter…. Wanna go for a ride?(this by a very very large boy)

4.) Scrubs… you get to wear scrubs! You are so lucky I wish I could too! Wanna go for a walk? You wont even get to hot because you have your lightweight scrubs on! (I had to laugh at this one… I would have gone too if I wasn’t on my way to work)

5.) Wanna play Frisbee with me I have one in my backpack.

Ok so these are lame but I got a smile out of them and I hope you can too!

Love List

I have been a little down lately being all cranky, crabby, and whatnot. So I decided to blog about what makes me Happy! So here is my Love List… All the stuff I love and makes me smile.

• Idaho- (Now this one at times even makes me wonder… ie wind go away.) I love my home state! I drove a different way to Rexburg today and saw buffalo grazing two fields away from Llamas how random/ awesome is that! I love all the different farm animals I get to see daily. Like the goats I get to see every day on my way to school and work. I even make stupid jokes about them being my kids(a baby goat also known as a kid:) total biology lesson here folks).

• Farmers- I love seeing these gianormous pieces of machinery traveling at ridiculously slow speeds down the freeway. I smile every time I see them which is pretty often right now with spring planting and tilling going on.

• Ranchers- Let us not forget the ranchers… need I say more :)

• TinLee- I love my niece she is the sweetest thing ever. I love the fact I am an Auntie. Babies are the best.

• Music- Currently my favorites include Eric Church, Josh Gracin, and Gary Allen, Famous in a Small town by Miranda Lambert, Georgia Clay- Josh Kelly.

• Book of Mormon- Its true. Trust.

• Bishop and Sister Bartola- these people are amazing!! Besides sharing a birthday with they have always/will always be great examples and friends to me. If I can be half as amazing I will feel truly blessed.

• My Family- obviously this list isn’t in order. I am really lucky to be blessed with my amazing family. Meet them and you will be jealous!

• My friends all the ones that matter know who they are and how grateful I am for you!

• Randoms- baking, hunting, fishing, reading, Pepsi, Lexie!

How I Waste Time Like a PRO

Hello My Name is Christine and I am a PROCRASTINATOR!!!!!!!
It is actually an issue how bad I really am. Right now my nemesis’ are as follows by the sheer amount of time I spend wasting time and not really getting what I need to do done!

1 FACEBOOK: I swear I have looked at your cousin’s uncle’s friend’s mom’s wedding album twice. I really do have better things to do yet, I continue to Facebook stalk!

2 GMAIL: I log on at school and even though it takes me under 20 min to check my emails I stay on and look at nothing and you should probably not get me started about Gmail chat.

3 BLOGGER: I blog stalk as bad as I Facebook stalk. I read the blogs I follow, Nie Nie, Cakewrecks(I love this one bwahaha), My family’s, and my friends.

4 KINDLE: This was the perfect present for me but I would rather read then do most things so again a problem. Not only the reading but the free books, Amazon has tons that refresh hourly so you need to check back often for the new free ones :)

Who wants to study when you have all of this awesomeness at your finger tips?

A plan change

Life has a funny way of working out. I had a plan, I prayed about it, and I was ready for it to happen. Then it completely change and I got to scramble to make plan 2.0 work. So back in Oct I applied for ISU I met all of the criteria so it shouldn’t be a problem getting accepted. I had a ton of issues getting my transcripts released from Sierra College but got those all taken care of as they arose. ISU finally received all of my stuff the first week of Dec and I was told to wait to get admittance letter. I never got a letter or heard back from them. I finally got a hold of someone this last week and got the information I needed to register. I couldn’t get it to register me online, so I planned to meet with a councilor. 2 days and 4 ½ hrs later I was told they couldn’t help me and after another hour on the phone was told I was admitted to Spring Semester 2012. I was not happy to say the least. I had a plan what the heck happened???? I decided that I needed to look at BYUI again. When I hadn’t heard anything back I got kind of nervous and signed up for an Anatomy class that I needed. When I got what I thought I needed to register I dropped the class. After all this I decided I needed to take another look at BYUI and when I did I realized that it hadn’t dropped my class and I still had my spot. With a quick schedule making I got what I needed and had all of my classes ready for the next day which is the first day of school.
It is impossible to deny the Lords hand in my life. I really thought that ISU was what I needed to do, and move to Poky were supposed to be what I needed to do. Obviously the Lord had a different idea in mind. I really have no idea why but whatever it was I needed to be in Rexburg. So we shall see with the beginning of a New Year and Semester what is in store.

2010 the Recap!
This year has been a crazy one! It has been full of new adventures, friends, and lots of family. I am blessed and feel so lucky. So here is a recap my year (Cliff’s notes version)

I moved home from CA- this was an adjustment and hard leaving all of my friends that I had made and coming back home to where most of my old friends had moved on with school, marriages, and babies.

I started BYU-I again and started my CNA class.

I got a job working for my aunt who if I say so myself is one of the best bosses. I am a medical courier and I drive all over Rexburg. This job can be boring but it has really appreciate how beautiful my surroundings are when I pull into Rexburg and I see the Grand Tetons… That is the best stress reliever ever! I started again at Sportsman’s Warehouse. I have worked there too long. I have never had 2 jobs before, and so those with my CNA Class and my other school I stayed pretty busy.
I have found I love decorating Cakes I have made some fun and different cakes for family members. I have always loved to bake but this became a way I could really have fun and be creative.

Some places I had the opportunity to see for the first time were:

- Bear Lake, once I saw it with its surrounding mountains and beauty, I was finally able to see why so many people love it. Add the fact that they are known for raspberry shakes makes it all the better!

-Lava Hot Springs I was fun to finally know what everyone always talked about when they talk about the hot pools and the lazy river.

-Chinook, MT with the Beautiful Bear Paw Mts. and great hunting.
I got my first buck.

These places are so close to me and I have never really taken the time to go explore them. This next year I plan on taking the jeep to see some more of the beauties in practically my back yard.

Life has been CRAZY the last few months. I feel like I have grown more in these past months then I have in my whole life(give me a break I know I am 22 but still!) I have grown closer to the Lord, my Mom, and some very dear friends. I am so blessed to have these people in my life. All I can say is PRAY ALWAYS. I can never fully put how important that has been to me into words!

Highway 20 O thee I loathe

-Highway 20 will be the death of me. I drive this road 5 days a week rain, shine, ice, wind, and snow on my way to Rexburg. Through heightened blood pressure and white knuckles I make my drive. Thanks to my Jeep I have survived thus far. Through this all this is what I have learned : NEVER NEVER NEVER speed on Highway 20 they will pull you over and give you a ticket… thank heavens for cruise control. Slideoffs will happen just pray it’s not you , And the sign to Rigby lies… it is not great.

Squeeze INN

My Friend Melissa was telling me about a place that was on the Food Network Show "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives " that is right here in Sacramento. I specializes in this burger called the "Squeeze Burger w/ Cheese" where they take 1/3 lb of Beef and 1/3 lb of cheese on a bun!!!!!! Now ever being the lover of Cheese I decided to check out this place!! I convinced my Uncle Rod to come with me because he loves all food bad for you as well. We started or trek with a flat tire about 10 min away from the Squeeze Inn. Now when we got there this place is totally a dive. But they had some of the greatest burgers ever! I want to go back but I'll need to space out visits to digest all of the grease! I Love DIVES!!!!

Miata, and Traffic Cameras!!

It has been such a long time since I wrote my first blog. So I have decided that it is time I write my second one! This might be means for celebration!!! In the past Two and 1/2 years I have been living in CA where I am going to school, working, and playing! I bought myself a convertible and me and my trustee Miata Mia travel all over in the quest of a good time! I am here to say if you live in an area where winter is a few days in the 50's with rain then a convertible is for you! Sunshine, great gas mileage, and the feeling since you can be seen by everyone, you just don't care! I love MY CAR!!!!!!!!
Speaking of the Fantastic Miata! I got MY first TRAFFIC VIOLATION!!!!!!!!!! I received a ticket from a red light camera... I was so mad. They sent me my voilation in the mail with 4 very lovely shots of myself and various angles of my car! It was sent to my house in Idaho and my dad called me to tell me about it, but he had a question about the look on my face. When I looked at it I realized it caught me saying SHOOT! I quickly got over it, till I got my ticket amount in the mail 519.00 after the optional traffic school! Thank heaven I wasn't speeding

I now am a blogger! Yet another thing to keep me from hitting the books. Yes to all of those procrastinators who don't do there homework till the last moment (in my case it is avoiding the million parts and bones of the skull). So I have a feeling that around finals week brilliant ideas will come to me that I just have to blog. I feel like I need to say something powerful or moving for my first blog but I will save that for one of my tyrannical raids. Stay tuned ;0
